      Disappointed in this new edition

These are my 3rd editions of the Metcon, I’ve had no problem with my previous 2 pairs. Nike has changed the design around the ankle which caused high rubbing on the inside my ankles, I can no longer do lateral movements comfortably or without causing excessive rubbing and blistering on my ankles, even with high ankle socks. The size runs a little smaller than previous editions also. For regular weight lifting/up down movements, these are still a great shoe, but don’t serve the purpose of a good all round trainer like the previous editions, in my opinion.

Honestly, thee best Metcon so far. Admittedly, I found these awful and plain looking initially. After finally purchasing, I was silenced when I realized the true quality of this shoe. Heavy lifts, circuits, and daily use; this model has covered it all. Smooth while walking and handling daily tasks, yet sturdy for crossfit, but grounded for compound movements. The amount of detail that has gone into the look… shockingly left it looking very simple from far away. Yet the closer you look at the shoe the more you notice. Well done. Best Metcon yet.

Out the gate they feel great. Wide toe box is great for my wide foot, But after less than a week of casual wear it the thin robber sole at the heel has started to just crumble apart. There is onIy a few millimeters of rubber between the hard plastic heel cup and the rubber sole. I cannot imagine these lasting anyone who trains hard more than a few months. I currently have a grade 3 tear on 5th MTP joint so I have only been casually walking and it's already crumbling away. This is highly disappointing. Poor build quality,

These model of metcons are probably the worst ever made. Although metcons normally run a little bigger than airmaxs or other nikes, these ran a full size larger. Also, these models were made to have stiff sides for rope climbing (or other cross-fit exercises), making the sneaker very uncomfortable. However, they look nice and can be a back up training sneakers after breaking them in. Would wait for these to go on sale if you’re planning to buy. Nike has better options within the full price of the Metcon 9.

      They Grew On Me!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Snug to comfy fit. I guess I just had to break them in. However, even during my first time wearing them I was still able to wear them for an entire shift (plenty of walking/standing) and not have foot pain. I love the sturdiness this shoe provides when weightlifting. The design also grew on me. however, I received compliments from different people before they started to look appealing. Overall, without originally being a fan of the Metcons, I’d give this shoe an 8/10.

      Boots that look like shoes

Oof where to start. First they are not a good looking shoe (I was hoping the feel and functionality would help overlook this and just never looking down). Second, this thing feels like a boot. If you like Metcon 6s, Nano 2.0, or Nano 4.0 you're probably going to hate these shoes as I do. Third, the middle sole is carved out for the rope rubber and it makes them feel less stable for lifting because there's noting there to support you're foot on the ground. I'm sure they work great for some people, but they feel heavy and bulky which is not what I look for when I workout. Day to day just going to the store or getting the mail, probably fine. For working out I would compare them to being a kid and putting on adult shoes and klip klopping around thinking it's funny because you're pretending you have humongous feet.

      Great Sneakers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes are great. I feel like they run a little bit big. When first wearing them, they did feel a bit stiff in the heel. As I wore them more, they loosened up a bit. I love the style of these; I feel like they look very unique and I haven't seen many sneakers like this. They are very durable; they have held up through many rounds of disc golf in thick and high grass, mud and water. I can tell they will last quite a while even after taking a beating.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a previous owner of Nike metcon shoes I knew I’d be getting max comfort. I owned a pair of metcon 5s and use them almost everyday at the gym. When I tried on the Metcon 9s I knew I’d be switching from the 5s to 9s. HUGE UPGRADE. The fit is just right and I love the comfortable soles and flat bottoms, perfect for lifting at the gym. I got the black, white, and gray colorway. Goes great with any fit I choose to wear regardless if I’m trying to match or not!

      Best weight training shoes ever.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wearing Metcons for my heavy weight lifting days, especially during leg workouts. The flat bottoms allow you to really push off your feet properly when lifting. The shoes are the perfect mix of comfort, practicality and looks. They fit to size and are very durable. I've only purchased two pairs in the last 7 years because of how durable they are, and I am in the gym 4 days a week. While flat on the bottom, there still very comfortable to wear.

The shoe rubs and hurts my ankle on the right side of my right leg. I thought I could break in my shoes, but nothing got better. I tried removing the laces from the top holes, but it's still an issue. I like the other parts of the shoe! I like the color and design. The ankle rub is painful enough for me to go back to my old strength training shoe. I read other reviews and sized down a half size to an 10 instead of 10.5 and this was perfect.

      Metcon 8 vs 9

I purchased the metcon 9 over the 8 due to price and availability so we will see how these hold up. Originally bought two pair of the metcon 8's each lasting six months before a hole would form in the middle front and the material on the heel started to come off. Also the 8's had an issue of the sole separating from the shoe in the front so I wanted to give the 9's a chance to see if they hold up a little longer. I'm a delivery driver for fedex so I'm on my feet up to 15 miles a day, 10+ hours a day so my shoes see a lot of use. I understand people typically use these shoes for just running or working out and if that's the case they may last substantially longer. Overall I continue to buy these shoes because they are the most comfortable shoes compared to all the major brands and I can come home and not have any foot pain or soreness what so ever.

      Almost perfect minimalist workout/training shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are pretty standard shoes I have been using for indoor workouts and hiit workouts. Some plus: comfortable, the business minimalist styling, Velcro tabs to hold your laces in place (see pictures) and good traction. Some minor minuses: the forefoot styling makes it look like there is venting but it’s just styling and not functional, the side design cuts off the Nike logo. Minor aesthetic gripes aside, it’s a comfortable shoe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first received them, I couldn't wait to try them on! I have been searching to find a good fit cross trainer for my weight training workouts, and these shoes are just right! They slide on very easily, and are very comfortable and fit true to size. I have used them several times and they are so comfy and provide amazing support during my personal training sessions and weight training workouts! I highly recommend these!

I really don’t like them. Yes the heal stability is better than the 7 but I’m sorry I’d rather go back to the 7. Metcon 8 was so much better. Loved the design of them too. Metcon 9 are huge in the toe. They look ridiculous in comparison to the 8 and personally I don’t think the design/colour ways are as nice. I’m praying for the 10 to be closer to the 8. I’ve tried the 9’s twice this year I just can’t and my 8’s are dying

I was very pleased with my first ever Metcon purchase. I had been reading reviews for years and decided to take a chance on them. The shoe feels solid, and the lock-down sensation is real! Along with the lock-down feel, there is also good flexibility for athletic training. This shoe is versatile and able to take whatever I throw at it. I recommend these shoes, but if you can get a deal on them, they are all the more sweet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Imagine our delight when we opened the box and saw the "cool as fudge" Metcons staring back at us. The whole family gathered to ooh and ahh over the shoes. My husband wore them around the house, said they felt very comfortable and looked so stylish. According to my husband, they're flat enough to feel comfortable while lifting weights and have some support for jumps, etc. Keep coming up with interesting new shoes Nike!

unfortunately, the Nike metcon has gone downhill since the 7’s. this iteration is extremely bulky, not breathable and there’s no chance you can comfortably run with these. the toe box is great and they shine during strength training. other than that there’s no real use for them. miss the days I could rock metcons 24/7. hyped to see the metcon 1’s being released again. can we please get some neutral colors for them?

Great lifting/training shoe. I wasn’t initially sold on the design coming from the 8, but once I got them in hand it grew on me immediately. They look great, feel more stable than the 8’s, and have a little more toe room. One additional thing to note is that the traction pattern is way better on the 9, as my 8’s toe traction ripped after repeatedly doing planks. It seems like that will not happen with the 9.

Overall look is pretty cool. Overall feel and quality is horrible. Sides are so stiff it's bruising the underside of my ankle bone. Within a month not even working out in them, the rubber is coming off in chunks just leaving plastic at the very back of heel. When I'm walking there's a plastic noise hitting the floor with every step which is super annoying. Overall I hate them and do not wear them anymore.

Physical Therapist here. Been wearing these for about 4 months now, for both lifting and work. I have to say they are one of the most comfortable shoes I've worn in a minute. As someone who talks/recommends shoes on the regular, this is the first shoe Nike that I will endorse. As a size 14 with a bunion and very picky, these have met all my expectations and I will be buying a pair in white. Cheers y'all.

Super comfortable, breathable and offer great stability during workouts. But they’re also great for all day wear. Found myself wearing them while running errands and they felt really nice, cool and lightweight. All around these are awesome shoes that I’d recommend to anyone.

I’ve owned previous generations of Metcons and these are the best ones yet. Even though they have a slightly higher profile, they feel incredibly stable and firm. These are as good as it gets for squatting and heavy lifting, without buying powerlifting shoes. Love the new flap for hiding the shoe laces and I would, overall, just highlight the high quality build of this shoe.

I wanted to like this shoe. Toe box looked large and I have had success with the fit of previous versions of the Metcon. But this shoe is really heavy, inflexible, and fits like a boat. I can get the stiffness as the goal was for more stability, but the fit is sloppy. Loose on top and no way to really snug it down. It seems to be made for a really high volume foot.

I am by no means a CrossFit person, but still really like wearing these for all day wear to make sure I'm comfortable and don't have to worry about my feet aching after doing a lot of walking. I'm a Midwest mom and even taking my kids to the county fairs my feet felt fine the whole time -- if you know, you know.

I've been training and competing with the shoe since the release, including at the 2023 CrossFit Games, and it's safe to say that it was up for the task. Durable, sustainable and stabile.

I've had every version of Metcon except for the first. They have all been great up until this model. These 9's seem to run huge, the toe box is wider and overall shoe is just larger. One shoe the side was higher than the other and pushed up into my ankle making the few workouts I tried in them unbearable. I wore them about 5 times and went back to 8's.

Amazing shoe for gym (whatever you practice). Lots of support on the inner foot which gives it stability. This particular version looks fantastic with all the colors (the pictures don't do justice for this one). Bring color to the gym. One comment: I usually wear size 45.5 in Nike, but decided to choose 45 due to past experience with Metcon 7.

The shoe looks great on my feet and it doesn’t make my feet look bulky. At first, I thought the band going across the inside of the shoe would be annoying but this was not the case. The shoes are comfortable for weight bearing activities. I like the neutral black color.
