We have two men’s and two women’s colour schemes launching here at Pro:Direct, so let’s take a look at the visuals first.

From top to bottom, you notice the tonal colours on the new engineered stretch knit upper, then a big wedge of the new FF Blast+ midsole foam, visible gel in the heel sits on top of Flytefoam.

On the eye, it’s a long distance from the old, overly complicated looks ASICs used to go for, and much better for it.

19% lighter than FF Blast the New FF Blast+ offers the same responsive, bouncy feel, just with less weight, this will help you glide through the long miles the Kayano has always excelled at.

ASICS have also done away with both the Duomax system and the Trusstic plastic insert, instead incorporating the LITETRUSS system recently introduced to the other long distance support shoes in their range, the GT-2000 and GT-1000.

By incorporating the geometry of the shoe sidewalls and outsole design with a gender specific 3D space construction, ASICS have created a lighter, more efficient system. Firmer foam on the medial side still works to stop your stride from rolling in too far, but you may feel it is less intrusive than in previous versions thanks to the extra help it gets from the redesign. An all-new external heel counter also aide’s stability and comfort.

Like most brands these days, ASICS are taking their environmental responsibilities seriously, with at least 50% of the upper made from recycled materials, and a new sockliner dyeing process that uses 33% less water, and approximately 45% less carbon emissions compared to conventional dyeing technology.
