Just how big can a sneaker release get? One of the most popular and attention-grabbing shoes of all time, the Air Jordan 4 arrived in 1989 and was introduced by Michael Jordan in a rip-roaring NBA All-Star Game. But that was just the start – in May of the same year, MJ ended a tied playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers with “The Shot”, the legendary foul-line jumper that capped a game-winning, 44-point performance and forever lodged the “Black Cement” colourway in the minds of sneakerheads everywhere.
