If the length looks right but the boot feels cramped through the sides, trying a different shape is usually more useful than simply adding another size.

Top-spec junior boots are now a genuine part of the range.
Kids Elite Predator and F50 models sit alongside Pro, Academy, League and Club options, so buying junior rugby boots no longer automatically means stepping down to an entry-level version of the adult boot.
That does not mean Elite is essential. With growing feet, how long a pair is likely to fit is part of the value calculation. The useful choice is the level that works for their rugby, their budget and how much wear they are likely to get from that size.
