Description
Take yourself back to the early Premier League years with this retro Aston Villa away kit, made by Score Draw. The shirt features the club’s classic light-blue and white away theme, with a uniquely late 90s aesthetic.
The 1997/98 season might not have produced any silverware, but it did feature one of the most star-laden teams in the club's history. The side was littered with big names like Dwight Yorke, Gareth Southgate and then club-record signing Stan Collymore. Meanwhile, future club legends Gareth Barry and Lee Hendrie made their breakthrough in the first team. After a poor start to their league campaign left them in the relegation places, Villa gradually improved and spent most of that season climbing the table. At the end of the year, a memorable run of nine wins in their last 11 games - including victories over Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea - saw them rise to as high as seventh in the table and qualify for the next season's UEFA Cup.
