Leather Football Boots

The first few games leave their mark. A crease across the toe, leather settling around your foot, that familiar touch every time the ball arrives. Copa, Morelia, Premier. There's still plenty of room for leather in the Bootroom.

Leather Boots

Leather football boots bring a softer, slightly cushioned feel to contact with the ball. The upper gradually settles around your foot, particularly through the forefoot, which is a big part of why players stick with leather once they've found a shape they like. At Pro:Direct Soccer, the range covers longstanding favourites like the adidas Copa Mundial, Nike Premier 3 and Mizuno Morelia, alongside lighter leather hybrids for players who prefer a more streamlined fit. From traditional kangaroo leather to modern calf leather constructions, there's plenty of variety in how these boots feel straight out of the box and after a few matches.

There's plenty of variation behind the stitching. Mizuno Morelia has a traditional, accommodating forefoot, while Morelia Neo brings a closer shape and leather across the front. adidas Copa Pure IV Elite combines a soft leather forefoot with modern support, and the F50 Hyperfast and Predator 26 L-Tech editions use leather up front with technical materials behind it. Nike Premier keeps to the classic formula, with a traditional shape and uncomplicated feel. Browse our leather adidas football boots or leather Mizuno football boots to compare their different approaches to touch, comfort and construction.

Fit and soleplate still deserve the final say. Leather can relax slightly with wear, but it won't fix a boot that's too short or loose around the heel. Choose firm ground (FG) for suitable natural grass, soft ground (SG) for wet, yielding pitches and artificial grass (AG) for 3G where that soleplate is available. Leather also needs a little looking after, particularly through winter. Wipe away the mud after playing and let your boots dry naturally, away from direct heat. Check the materials too, as some modern leather-feel uppers are entirely synthetic. For a closer comparison of the classics and modern alternatives, read our Leather Football Boots Buying Guide.
