Unlocking the full potential of players, the Nike Women's Vapor 12 is lighter and more responsive than the Vapor 11 after some of the rubber in the midfoot was replaced by a plastic piece from previous editions, with midsole foam bolstering stability when making quick cuts. Further weight-saving measures have been made, including reworking the mesh upper while protecting the durability of high wear areas of the shoe, and the use of a new rubber compound used in the Herringbone traction pattern. Plenty of familiar features remain in order to provide those signature bursts of acceleration that make the Vapor such a popular shoe on the tour. A heel Zoom Air unit allows you to leap and lunge across the court with vigour, while a firm footframe locks your feet in place to keep your slides steady and balanced. Enhancing manoeuvrability on-court gives you more time to get behind the ball and control rallies to find winners.

• A heel Zoom Air unit helps keep you supported and springy throughout your match. The forefoot is feathery, flexible and fast, so the moment your foot touches the ground, you can explode and move
• The firm midfoot plastic piece seen on past Vapors returns to provide great stability and transitions when cutting from side to side, allowing for the removal of the rubber in the midfoot, which helped reduce the overall weight of the shoe
• A firm footframe wraps around the supportive midfoot plate and spans from toe-to-heel to give you more of a locked down feel, giving you the stability to transfer power during aggressive slides, cuts and pivots
• The engineered mesh upper is lightweight while protecting high-wear zones on the toe tip and medial side
• The Herringbone traction pattern is made of our new rubber compound that's lighter than Vapors of the past, allowing you to decelerate, plant and back into position without feeling like you're rounding off your cuts
• A full midfoot fit band allows you to pull the laces tighter to enhance the fit and enable faster cuts
• There's midsole foam in-between the plastic and the rubber, which wasn't on the Vapor 11, so you can jab, cut with unrivalled agility
