First Look: Nike Phantom 6 x Haaland Chapter 5

Haaland's signature Nike Phantom line has already gone through some pretty loud phases. Crimson, chrome, fluorescent orange, molten red, deep blue, green. Chapter 5 takes the temperature right down.

The latest Nike Phantom 6 Low Elite arrives in Baltic Blue, Blue Eclipse and Glacier Blue, built around the next part of Haaland's ongoing Force of Nature story. Nike calls this chapter Force of Nature: Aqua, and the whole thing leans into the contrast that has followed Haaland throughout the series. There is a stillness to him at times, almost detached from the game, then suddenly he is through the middle and the ball is in the net.

Water gives Nike a neat way to tell that story. Calm on the surface, much more violent underneath. The colourway plays into it perfectly, with cold blues running across the boot and none of the heat that defined some of the earlier chapters. It is probably one of the cleanest Haaland releases so far, at least until the weather gets involved.

The Detail Comes Out in the Rain

The clever part of Chapter 5 sits across the quarters of the boot. Nike has used its Hydra treatment, with white ink designed to disappear when wet and reveal more of the graphic underneath. Dry, the Phantom 6 keeps a relatively calm, tonal look. Once the rain starts, more of the artwork comes through.

The Gripknit stays more restrained, so the effect does not take over the entire upper. That helps. The changing graphic feels like part of the campaign rather than something added just to give the boot a party trick. It also means Chapter 5 effectively carries two versions of the same design, one straight out of the box and another once the conditions turn.

There is also something very Haaland about a boot that gets more interesting when the weather gets worse. Manchester should give it every opportunity.

A Little Hypervenom in the Background

Nike has used this idea before. Last year's Hypervenom Phantom RGN Transform Hydra also used water to reveal more of the graphic underneath, itself reaching back to Nike's Transform concept from 2015.

That makes Chapter 5 another small Hypervenom connection inside Haaland's wider Phantom story. Chapter 4 already looked back towards a Hypervenom colourway he wore when he was younger, and now the water-reactive treatment has made the jump into his current signature line.

None of that takes over the campaign, but it gives the boot a bit more depth for anyone who has been paying attention to Nike's archive releases. Hypervenom keeps finding its way back into modern Phantom, sometimes loudly and sometimes through details like this.

Haaland Chapter 5 Goes Beyond the Elite Boot

The Aqua story runs much deeper than the adult Elite model. Nike has taken the same colour language through junior Pro, Academy and Club options across different surfaces, so younger Haaland fans get a proper version of the release rather than a watered-down colour match.

That matters with a Haaland collection. Signature boots like these live in two worlds at once. Some pairs will end up in collections. Plenty more will be on school pitches, academy sessions and weekend games within days of release.

The wider apparel follows the same direction too, with aqua, navy and green carrying the Force of Nature theme into adult and kids' clothing. It makes Chapter 5 feel more like a complete campaign than a single Phantom colourway, and the cooler palette gives the whole drop its own identity without losing the thread that has run through Haaland's previous chapters.

Chapter 5

There is a lot packed into a boot that looks fairly simple at first glance. The colourway resets the series after some much louder chapters, the Hydra treatment gives the upper another layer once the rain arrives, and the Hypervenom reference quietly links it back into Nike's wider boot history.

Most importantly, it still feels like Haaland.

The whole Force of Nature idea has always worked best when Nike leans into that contrast between calm and chaos. Chapter 5 does exactly that, only this time the weather gets involved too.
