A brand with a reputation for innovation, HEAD trace their tennis origins back to the late 60s and the creation of the first aluminium-based tennis racket, the brainchild of company founder Howard Head.
Head, a former aeronautics engineer, began a racket revolution with his idea for light yet strong frames. Attracted by the durability of a metal racket, American icon Arthur Ashe stepped in to give a player’s point of view, assisting with development of the original aluminium frame in 1969. A few years later, a HEAD racket was in the hands of a champion, with Ashe famously wielding his signature Competition to win Wimbledon in ’75.
In more recent times, they’ve produced match-winning apparel too, using technical fabrics to promote freedom of movement and breathability for performance that’s perfectly suited to tennis. Bold and stylish off-court looks complete the HEAD clothing collection.
