Asics Gel-Resolution 9 Clay

Boss the game from the baseline wearing ASICS GEL-RESOLUTION 9 Clay tennis shoes in White/Restful Teal, a significant update to the popular stability shoe with redesigned DYNAWALL support to keep you on a secure footing.
The upper has seen some changes too, utilising a combination of mesh and synthetic in a pattern that follows the natural flexion of the foot and accommodates the different landing positions that occur during a long, tiring match. It’s all about preserving stability while making sure you stay comfortable in every type of movement – forwards, backwards, and side to side. That’s where the extended DYNAWALL makes the difference, with the chunky structured piece now wrapping further up the heel to help you maintain balance not only during slides, but also when braking after a sprint. Underneath, the outsole’s separated medial and lateral sides produce a smoother landing, while the groove in between ensures an efficient transition as you shift your weight to launch into your next play.

ASICS

Anima Sana In Corpore Sano. “A Sound Mind in a Sound Body.” More than a motto, the words that make up the ASICS name are the inspiration for every product they create.

In tennis terms, that means helping players move around the court more quickly, more easily, and more comfortably, which is exactly what they’ve been doing since the release of their first tennis shoe, the Tiger A Type, way back in 1952.

It’s also why, when you look at their modern range, you’ll see some models with numbered revisions well into double figures. That’s the ethos in action. Constant refinement, reinvention, and innovation makes sure you’re always ahead of the game, in every sense.

Take the GEL-CHALLENGER, for example. A stalwart of the court for decades, it’s built for long-lasting stability, using durable materials and featuring extra support to keep you balanced during lateral moves.

You’ll also notice the GEL prefix on many of their shoes. First introduced on ASICS running trainers in the 80s, the proprietary cushioning tech has huge crossover value for tennis, absorbing the repeated impact forces that come with serving, sprinting, and changing direction. Over time, it helps you stay fresher for longer, vital for those gruelling three- and five-set matches.

There’s no doubt about it: ASICS make some of the best tennis shoes around. After all, if Novak Djokovic chooses to wear them, they must be good. The record-breaking Serb has his signature COURT FF, which boasts lightweight FlyteFoam for extra spring, while Gael Monfils wears the sturdy GEL-RESOLUTION. Clay Court

Clay court tennis shoes are specifically designed for optimal performance on clay surfaces. These shoes feature a full herringbone tread pattern on the outsole, which provides superior grip on the slippery clay surface, while also allowing the right amount of slide that clay-court play requires. This pattern also prevents clay from clogging the grooves. Additionally, these shoes are built to offer excellent lateral support for the side-to-side movements typical of clay court play. Enhanced durability is often a design focus as well, due to the abrasive nature of clay courts. Choosing clay court shoes can significantly improve stability and performance.
