PUMA are kicking off 2023 with a bang as the brand introduce their next-generation Future boot into the world’s largest Bootroom at Pro:Direct Soccer. Centred around the needs of the modern day playmaker the Future Ultimate is re-engineered to deliver a supportive fit, enhanced touch and traction.

If you're looking to control the game and get on the ball while adding a bit of extra zip to your shooting then this is a serious contender for 2023, in a control category that rivals the Nike Phantom and adidas Predator. Here are 5 things you need to know about the PUMA Future Ultimate football boots…

1. Better Fit

The main feature of the new PUMA Future Ultimate is that new PWRTAPE technology that PUMA call out with the exaggerated wave pattern on the upper. This combines with the FUZIONFIT360 upper to deliver a stretchy knit for an adaptive fit while remaining supported and locked-in for a satisfying harnessed fit.

2. Built for Agility

The upper of the PUMA Future Ultimate football boots are designed to get on the ball and enhance control but that’s not much use if the soleplate isn’t built to complement it. The Dynamic Motion System soleplate achieves stability, traction and agility to get out of tight spots so players can remain on their feet and move quickly out of trouble to make space to receive a pass or find one.

3. Improved Control

The Engineered 3D textures on the upper of the PUMA Future DNA boot enhances ball grip and control when dribbling at speed or receiving a fizzed pass. This adds a little bit of extra friction to create spin when shooting or passing or simply keeping the ball close to your feet when moving with the ball at pace.

4. Laced or Laceless?

The choice is yours on this one. While other brands release their boots in two separate options, the beauty of the PUMA Future Ultimate is that you can simply remove the laces if you prefer that cleaner striking zone that a laceless boot offers. The PWRTAPE and FUZIONFIT360 tech on the upper ensures that the foot stays locked in and prevents the foot from slipping inside the boot.

5. As Seen On Pitch

The first colourway of the PUMA Future Ultimate football boots will begin to be worn on pitch from mid-January by PUMA’s elite pool of contracted players. So you can expect to see the likes of Neymar, Marco Reus & James Maddison.
