adidas F50+ Football Boots Review | Pro:Direct Soccer
The new generation adidas F50+ football boots have arrived! The iconic F50 is back and we’ve been testing them out to tell you everything you need to know in our extensive adidas F50 football boots review. Watch the video and listen to our man Cam’s verdict on the boots that’ll be worn by all adidas speed players moving into the 24/25 season.
Fresh out of the box and the adidas F50 gives you that immediate feeling that any F50 should give you when you pick it up – it feels fast. It’s immediately noticeable how light, sleek and fast these boots look and feel. If you picked them out the box and didn’t get that feeling, then it just ain’t F50 enough for us.
We opted for the super-light, laceless F50+ for our review. This is the most elite level of the F50 in the new line-up and sits just above the F50 and F50 laceless – all three versions will be worn by adidas professional players – it’s purely a personal preference of laced, laceless or maximum lightweight feel.
What size adidas F50 football boots should I buy?
As with almost all speed boots the F50 is on the narrower side, but what will say is that they do feel a little long so you definitely can get away with going half a size down on these.
What’s the fit like on the adidas F50+ football boots?
Once you get the adidas F50 football boots on foot you can immediately feel that suction to lock your foot in lace. It’s a snug, harnessed and satisfying feeling that almost makes your boot feel like a natural extension of your foot. It’s not restrictive, just satisfyingly tight to give you confidence in your speed, agility, acceleration and touch on the ball.
What’s the difference between the adidas F50+ and adidas X football boots?
The new adidas F50 is a natural evolution of the X series, and it feels like that. When the X dropped a new generation it still very much felt like an X, whereas the F50 does feel like a new boot whilst respecting and maintaining the DNA of adidas speed boots. The fit feels slightly different, more locked in and in all honesty just that little bit more comfortable.

How do the adidas F50+ football boots perform?
The Fibertouch upper hits that perfect sweet spot of being ultra thin so you can get great feel on the ball but all tough enough to offer you protection if you’re repeatedly striking balls at goal. Your first touch feels satisfyingly close to the ball when receiving a fizzed pass or plucking a ball out of the air – it’s thin but you feel study, it doesn’t feel like you’re just wearing socks, put it that way.
The adidas F50+ football boots are good-to-go straight out of the box. We didn’t notice any break-in period needed and even after our first training session there was no signs of rubbing or blisters anywhere on the feet.
Tech wise, the difference between the F50+ and the F50 is that adidas have injected Lightstirke Pro technology into the soleplate of the F50+ which is a foam like substance that provides an extra bit of spring when sprinting off and jumping. Is it noticeable? A little. You do feel light on your feet, but this is the sort of tech that aims to give you that tiny bit of advantage when games are decided by fine line. If it gets you to the ball a split second before the opponent then that could be all the difference between victory or defeat.
How much are the adidas F50 football boots?
Prices start from £35 for kids sizes and £50 for adults sizes. There are multiple different price levels to climb as better performance technology is added to the boots. The F50+ Elite is the top end of the price structure at £250, with the F50 and F50 Laceless dropping in at £220 and £230 RRP respectively.
Who wears the adidas F50 football boots?
The F50 is built for speed and agility, and with that in mind adidas have supplied the F50 to the likes of Lionel Messi, Mo Salah, Heung-Min Son, Lamine Yamal, Florian Wirtz.
Should I buy the adidas F50 football boots?
If you’re looking for an incredible lightweight, responsive and durable football boot then the adidas F50 is a real contender. The boot is designed to be fast on pitch, offer a locked-in fit and provide maximum agility when moving at speed.
