Founded in 1904 by three Englishmen living in New Zealand, Canterbury take their name from the region of the South Island in which the company was established. They started out producing clothing and military uniforms, before eventually striking a watershed deal to make the All Blacks’ rugby kits – a partnership that lasted 75 years, from 1924 to 1999. Seeing great potential in the sport, they expanded their sights to include other rugby uniform, protective gear, balls, casual wear, and boots.
