Originally developed in collaboration with Ricky Ponting to suit his dynamic style of play, the Kahuna now has a new partner: England powerhouse Jos Buttler. Buttler’s input in the design of the bat has resulted in a few slight alterations to better suit the modern game. A slightly higher spine combines with big edges that extend further up the and down the bat, while the already minimal scalloping has been reduced to give an even fuller profile. The recognisable feel of the Kahuna with its significant bow and lightweight pickup remain, as does the curved face that Ponting used to love so much. So you can still hook and pull at will, in addition to producing all the outrageous shots Buttler demonstrates with regularity in T20 games. Squarer, more emphatic graphics in trademark Kahuna green complete the refresh, giving the 2020 Kahuna a modern look to suit a new generation of cricket.
