Description

The Babolat Pure Drive + is the longer version of Babolat's primary power tennis racket, with a 27.5 inch handle.

The Pure Drive has been a popular choice for players of all levels for many years, thanks to its unique mix of power and spin potential. The 2018 edition aims to maximise those two attributes with the introduction of FSI Power technology - a new, wider 16/19 string pattern with diamond grommets. The idea is to allow more power to be produced from any part of the racket, whether you connect perfectly with the sweetspot or slightly off-centre.

In addition there's world-leading dampening in the form of SMAC's proprietary shock-absorbing material, which is integrated into the graphite of the frame. SMAC primarily work within the aerospace industry - this is serious stuff, and it really makes a difference to the feel of the racket. It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do, you'll be putting away difficult balls without a second thought.

Note: This Plus edition of the Pure Drive is 0.5 inches longer than the standard version, making it a great option for players who need an extra bit of reach.

Tennis Racket Profile Guide

Power

Power rackets feature stiffer constructions and thicker frames that provide easy depth and added pace with minimal effort, helping players generate power on every shot. Compared to spin rackets—another popular category in today’s game—they tend to produce lower shot trajectories while still delivering strong baseline depth without requiring as much physical input. These rackets are often available in 98 square inch head sizes for players who want a balance of power and control, while the more standard 100 square inch versions offer maximum forgiveness.
