Starting life as a training and competition sneaker that released back in 1996, the original Ozweego boasted adidas’s Adiprene performance foam cushioning in the forefoot for cool comfort. The Ozweego’s slick layered look would continually evolve over the following years, but its focus on performance would remain, with the likes of Torsion sole support being added in 1998. After a short, influential spell in their staple lineup, the 3-Stripes chose to bench the Ozweego in 2000, and that was that. Or was it?

Fast forward to 2013 and adi’s own Raf Simons, buoyed by 90s nostalgia and other resurfacing classics, decides to bring the Ozweego forward with a new chunky sole and silhouette, arguably kicking off the coming fascination with chunky sneakers.
