Women's adidas Adizero Adios Pro Running Shoes

The adidas Adizero Adios Pro has become one of the key race shoes in the adidas running line-up, built for faster road running from 10K through to the marathon. The adidas Adizero Adios Pro 5 brings the biggest mechanical change to the mainline series in years. EnergyRods have been replaced by EnergyRims, moving the carbon-fibre stiffening structure towards the outside of the platform and leaving more uninterrupted Lightstrike Pro beneath the foot. The idea comes from the more extreme Pro Evo family, adapted here for the Adios Pro's broader race-day role.

Lightstrike Pro has also been retuned, with a slightly firmer setup aimed at adding spring and stability. The women's Adios Pro 5 weighs an average 150g in a UK 5.5, while changes to the foam, carbon structure and upper all contribute to a lighter generation overall. adidas claims the combined updates deliver a 9% uplift in energy return.

Up top, Lightlock 2.0 reduces material while using one-way stretch to help hold the foot securely. Underneath, LIGHTTRAXION keeps outsole coverage targeted, with Continental rubber around the toe and toe-off area for extra traction. Our early fit impression found the Pro 5 slightly more accommodating through the forefoot than the Pro 4, although individual foot shape will still matter.

The Adios Pro remains adidas' main long-distance road racing shoe, sitting at the heart of the Adizero race-day range for runners chasing faster 10Ks, half marathons and marathons.
