Bruno Fernandes Surprises Fans at PD:FC Manchester

Manchester United captain and Portugal international Bruno Fernandes dropped into PD:FC Manchester for a night built around boots, football culture and one of the game's most recognisable Mercurial wearers.

Pro:Direct Soccer and Bruno have built a strong relationship since he arrived in Manchester, and he had been keen to visit our flagship Manchester Arndale space since the doors opened earlier this year. This time, he came in to film a live episode of The Boot Room with Lifejacket, using his long-standing connection with the Nike Mercurial Vapor to look back through his career in front of an invited audience.

From his international debut to lifting trophies and captaining club and country, Mercurial has been a constant on Bruno's feet. Different generations have followed him through different stages of his career, making the boot a natural way to revisit some of the moments that have shaped it.

The full conversation with Fenners and Lifejacket will land on their YouTube channel later this month, with Bruno talking through some of the Mercurials that mean the most to him and the memories attached to them.

After filming, Bruno headed upstairs to the Nineteen98 Lounge for a bespoke Nike Mercshop with boot customiser Jordan Dawson. A group of PD:FC members joined him for the session, getting the chance to work alongside the United captain while putting their own spin on a pair of Mercurials.

There was time for a look around the rest of PD:FC too. Bruno added to an already serious Mercurial collection and picked out pieces from the store's mix of performance product, streetwear and terrace culture before meeting the United fans waiting downstairs.

The night was another glimpse at what PD:FC Manchester was built for. Product is part of it, but so are the players, stories and moments around the game. Having one of Manchester's biggest players walking through his own boot history inside the store felt like a pretty good example of that.

There is more to come from Bruno's visit, including the full Boot Room episode with Fenners and Lifejacket and a closer look at some of the most iconic Mercurials inside the PD:FC monolith.
