So far...

We're properly into 2026/27 football shirt season now, which means enough kits have actually been worn for us to stop saying "we'll see" and start having opinions.

If you've landed here looking for the best kits 26/27 has given us, this is the current office edit. Not a ranking. Definitely not scientific. Rob can have Liverpool top while somebody two desks away thinks the Manchester United away shirt is miles better. Both will probably bring it up again tomorrow.

There is plenty going on this year. Trefoils everywhere, more pinstripes than we expected, brown shirts, pink shirts, old designs being dragged back out, new collaborations and, thankfully, some proper long sleeves again. Some of the best football kits 26/27 have been obvious from the first photo. Others needed a player in them, a night under the lights or about three weeks for everyone to quietly admit they had changed their mind.

So, in no particular order, these are the best football shirts 26/27 is giving us right now. Or at least the ones getting the most love around the office. More shirts are still coming and this list will keep moving. Football kits are funny like that. One European away night and suddenly the shirt you called horrible in July is "actually quite nice".

Nike Inter Milan 2026/27 Away Shirt

Inter have knocked this one out the park. White, thin blue pinstripes and that monogram crest. It has the feel of an old shirt you'd find in suspiciously good condition and immediately convince yourself you need. Very good football shirt. Possibly even better with jeans.

adidas Originals Boca Juniors 2026/27 Away Shirt

More pinstripes. Apparently this is the year for them. White, navy, Trefoil, proper Boca crest and a very obvious nod to the 2006/07 away shirt. It already has that slightly old look people normally spend fifteen years waiting for.

NOCTA Venezia 2026/27 Long-Sleeve Home Shirt

Yep, this is more like it. Black, orange, green, long sleeves and a proper collar. NOCTA is obviously still there, but Venezia feels like the main character again rather than the collaboration itself. Turns out letting Venezia look like Venezia was quite a good idea.

adidas Olympique Lyonnais 2026/27 Third Shirt

Lyon's funk scene inspired it, the body has vinyl-style grooves running through it and the Three Stripes look a bit like they're moving to a bassline. Usually you hear the inspiration behind a third shirt and politely nod along. This one actually makes sense when you look at it.

Nike FC Barcelona 2026/27 Home Shirt

I still get Netflix opening-intro vibes from this one. Once you see it, sorry, you probably can't unsee it. The blurred red and blue stripes give the shirt some movement and with Lamine Yamal wearing it all season, expect to see it in roughly every other highlight clip.

PUMA St. Pauli 2026/27 Home Shirt

Football as a fashion final boss. Brown kits can go very wrong, very quickly. This one doesn't. Espresso brown, white details and Jackson Irvine's moustache wearing it around Germany for a year. Hard to ask for much more really.

Nike Chelsea 2026/27 Home Shirt

No front sponsor is doing Chelsea a massive favour here. There is loads of space for the blue and gold to do their thing without a huge logo landing across the middle. We reserve the right to completely change our opinion if somebody fills that space next week.

adidas RC Lens 2026/27 Away Shirt

The Trefoil looks very comfortable here. Dark grey across most of the shirt, then Lens red and yellow around the collar, cuffs and badge. Club colours all present and correct, nobody felt the need to paint the whole thing yellow and red just to prove a point.

PUMA Borussia Dortmund 2026/27 Long-Sleeve Home Shirt

More long-sleeve football shirts, please. Dortmund yellow, black details and sleeves all the way down to the wrist. Put this under the lights on a European night and we're basically done here. Short-sleeve owners, no offence.

Nike Corinthians 2026/27 Home Shirt

Corinthians do not need much help. Soft white, black Swoosh, brilliant crest. Done. There is always the temptation to add one more pattern, stripe or bit of trim to a modern football shirt. Whoever stopped that happening here, thank you.

Nike Paris Saint-Germain 2026/27 Home Shirt

PSG looking like PSG. Sometimes that really is enough. The central stripe is back where it belongs and the whole thing instantly feels more Paris because of it. No need to reinvent the Parc des Princes every summer.

PUMA RB Leipzig 2026/27 Away Shirt

The Leipzig Botanical Garden is the inspiration, which is not a sentence we expected to type into a list of the best away kits 26/27. What you actually notice first is the red. Lots of red, loads of yellow and absolutely no attempt to quietly blend in. Fair enough.

adidas Originals Manchester United 2026/27 Away Shirt

Royal blue United shirts always feel slightly unusual, in a good way. Trefoil, red stripes, red-and-white V-neck, plenty for the old adidas crowd to get excited about. Then Stormzy turned up in it at the World Cup final, which is a fairly strong first outing for any football shirt.

PUMA Valencia 2026/27 Third Shirt

Two shades of pink, Torino Red and a graphic that looks like somebody stretched the whole shirt sideways. There will be people who hate this. Good. Third kits should occasionally make you stare at the screen for ten seconds before deciding whether they're brilliant or awful.

adidas Originals Liverpool 26/27 Goalkeeper Away Long-Sleeve Shirt

Black. Purple. Long sleeves. Trefoil. Goalkeeper shirt. We could probably stop there. Somehow there is quite a lot happening and it still looks clean. Plenty of old Liverpool adidas energy without looking like somebody has just raided the museum gift shop.

adidas Originals Real Madrid 26/27 Away Shirt

The real ones remember green Real Madrid shirts. Deep green, white details and a Trefoil. There is a little 2012/13 in there and we're absolutely fine with that. Madrid away shirts are allowed to wear colours the home shirt would never get away with.

adidas Originals Arsenal 26/27 Away Shirt

The Bruised Banana is back for another little visit, only this time somebody has turned most of the lights off. Navy base, yellow geometry, red details and a Trefoil make the reference obvious enough without turning it into a full 1991 tribute act. Arsenal away shirts should be slightly louder than necessary. It is basically tradition.

adidas Como FC x RHUDE Fourth Shirt

Lake Como by way of Los Angeles. Light blue, gold details, fold-over collar, RHUDE across the front. It is half football shirt, half something you convince yourself you need for holiday. Como have become annoyingly good at this sort of thing.

More of the Best Football Kits 26/27 Still to Come

We're definitely not finished. More new football kits are still landing, which means a few of the actual best shirts of the season probably haven't appeared yet. There will also be kits currently sitting in the "not sure about that" pile that suddenly become excellent because somebody scores a 30-yard winner in one.

We'll keep updating this list of the best new kits 26/27 as more home, away, third and goalkeeper shirts arrive. Expect old badges, questionable collars, unnecessary amounts of pink, another Trefoil or twelve and at least one shirt everybody says they hate until it becomes impossible to find in a medium.
