Manchester and Liverpool Are Ready for the PD:FC Derby
Manchester and Liverpool have rarely needed much encouragement to compete.
On Saturday, that rivalry moved into the five-a-side cages for the first stage of the PD:FC Derby. Manchester represented F50. Liverpool took Predator. The job was simple enough: earn a place in the 11-a-side fixture still to come.
The Teams Take Shape
GOALS Manchester and GOALS Liverpool North hosted the trials, with players from both cities getting their chance in a run of quick five-a-side games. The football did most of the talking. Goals, saves, tackles, quick feet and plenty of players willing to take someone on when the chance appeared.
Watching from the side were Jim Thwaites, Fin Gorman and Samuel Lusale, with Josh Abe and Jayden Danns joining the Liverpool session as the two cities started putting their derby squads together.
Every trialist also picked up branded gear and refreshments, with F50 and Predator boots available in limited numbers to try and prizes including Pro:Direct in-store discounts.
Manchester carried the Chaos side of the rivalry in F50. Liverpool had Control and Predator. Saturday was the first chance to see what those two teams might actually look like once players were involved.

The five-a-side trials are done. Next comes the full pitch.
On August 26th Manchester's F50 side will meet Liverpool's Predator team over 11-a-side, with North West bragging rights waiting at the other end.
