First Look: PUMA Unscripted Pack
First Look: PUMA Unscripted Pack
Bright blue, flashes of neon and blue flames running around three very different PUMA football boots. The Unscripted Pack is not particularly interested in keeping things quiet.
Landing across PUMA Ultra, PUMA Future and PUMA King, the pack takes PUMA's current line-up and gives each boot its own version of the same electric look. Ultra fades from white into blue, Future goes much heavier on the colour and King keeps things cleaner with black and neon cutting through the upper.
Off Script. On Fire. That idea suits a line-up built around three very different ways of causing problems with a ball at your feet.
Ultra NITRO 7: Football at NITRO Speed
The PUMA Ultra gets the sharpest colourway in the pack. White through the rear of the boot fades into bright blue around the forefoot, with metallic branding and flashes of green and blue underneath. Both the laced Ultra NITRO 7 Ultimate FG and laceless Ultimate LL FG get the Unscripted treatment.
There is plenty going on underneath that colour. NITROFOAM ELITE brings PUMA's nitrogen-infused foam into the footbed, adding response when the player loads through the forefoot and accelerates. The re-engineered ULTRAWEAVE upper keeps the structure light and close around the foot, while FastTrax 2.0 uses a data-informed stud layout built around quick cuts and short bursts of pace.
That combination is what makes this generation of Ultra interesting. Speed boots spent years chasing weight savings above everything else. Ultra NITRO 7 still keeps things stripped back, but now PUMA is doing more with the space directly underneath the foot too.
Future 9: Yours to Create
The PUMA Future gets the loudest version of Unscripted. Blue takes over almost the whole boot, with thin neon yellow-green graphics running through the forefoot before the colour gets even brighter around the soleplate.
Future 9 has plenty of tech to carry that look. FUZIONFIT combines an engineered knit, soft lining, Fuzionpods and PWRTAPE to wrap the foot while keeping enough flexibility for the boot to move naturally. A re-engineered mesh layer sits over the top with 3D grip zones and GripControl Pro, adding texture across the areas used for receiving, dribbling, passing and striking.
Underneath, FLEXGILITY uses a circular stud layout and dual-density construction built around movement in every direction. That makes Future a very different proposition to Ultra. Straight-line speed is only part of the picture here. The boot is made for players constantly turning out of pressure, shifting the ball and finding another angle.
The Unscripted colourway feels very at home on it.
King 20: Control Is King
The PUMA King takes the same blue palette somewhere cleaner. Bright blue dominates the upper, with black through the Formstrip and smaller neon hits providing the contrast.
King 20 is also the most touch-led boot of the three. TOTALTOUCH+ gives the upper a soft, cushioned feel, with laser-cut grip zones and 3D textures adding extra definition across the ball-contact areas. Inside, an engineered knit construction combines cushioned tongue pods, dynamic lacing and Ortholite CustomFit heel padding that gradually shapes around the foot.
The soleplate gives King another point of difference. The lightweight PEBA setup is built for both firm ground and artificial grass, making King 20 Ultimate the FG/AG option alongside the dedicated FG plates of Ultra and Future.
Twenty generations later, King looks very different from the leather boots that built the name. The obsession with touch is still there.
PUMA Unscripted Pack Release Date
