First Look: adidas Predator 96 Remake
First Look: adidas Predator 96 Remake
Before the Accelerator, before the Precision and before the Mania, there was the adidas Predator Touch.
First released in 1996, it was part of an era when football boots were becoming as unmistakable as the players wearing them. Black leather, white Three Stripes, that oversized red fold-over tongue and the rubber striking zones gave Predator its identity and now, 30 years later, the Predator Touch returns for the first time as the adidas Predator 96 Limited Collection edition.
Few football boots captured a shift in era quite like the adidas Predator. Not only did it look different from everything around it, with its' distinctive rubber elements challenging how we thought about what a football boot could do.
And by 1996, just two years after the original Predator, the Touch pushed the formula further, giving greater prominence to the fold-over tongue and expanding the distinctive rubber striking zones across the upper.
This remake Predator 96 brings back the iconic colour combo and oversized red fold-over tongue of the original. That combination is immediately recognisable, even to fans who never owned an original pair. It belongs to a period when a football boot could become a signature without needing a personalised colourway.
The remake uses a current-gen Predator soleplate rather than reproducing the original 1996 Traxion system one for one. A black to white fade across the whole plate is punched with the Powerspine in full red and three claw-like stripes at the forefoot, a subtle nod to the original FG plate on a 2026 update to the boot underfoot.
We've seen several Predator models honoured with the remake treatment over the years, from Mania to Accelerator and Predator Precision all recieving the reissue spotlight, but this marks a first for one of the more distinctive - if underrated, Predator classics.
The adidas Predator Touch 96 Limited Collection is available from the World's Best Bootroom Pro:Direct Soccer from 4th November 2026.
